Featured Project: Triumph Spitfire
This project began when the owner of the Triumph decided to integrate an Audio system into his car.
The owner went out and brought his own speakers and CD player but soon after he realised that the task was just to grate, as he wanted to keep the car looking as standard as possible.
The Matrix team were on hand to help this customer use his own kit and still make the car look standard inside but have outstanding audio.
We integrated the JVC CD player into the middle of the dash, using wood and leather to add a section to the dash, we then ran the cables from the CD player to behind the seats, where we created two square Bespoke housing pods to house two pairs of speakers, then we covered them in black cloth and constructed a top cover which also housed on the underside a radio antenna. This allowed the body panels to stay undrilled.
The CD player had a built in phone kit which allowed the driver to answer this phone calls safely. The microphone was placed in between the clocks; this was because if we housed the microphone high it would have picked up the wind noise, as it is a soft top.
So by looking at the gallery we have produced, you can see that we can bring a classic car up to the 20th century and still keep its classic look.
